Post aidance

What is post-caregiving?

Post-caregiving is the period that follows the end of the role of caregiver. It's the period when you not only mourn the loss of your loved one, but also of your role, your bearings and your identity as a caregiver.

Post-care is a period when many griefs and emotions come together.

Through the services of «The Journey», you'll find a caring space to move forward at your own pace, surrounded by people living a similar reality. It will be an opportunity to share, exchange and explore various topics and personal growth tools to help you tame this new path and adapt to this new reality with serenity.

Being a post-caregiver also means...

Question your experience

It's a time to reflect on how far we've come, what we've experienced and how we've changed.

Coming to terms with grief:

This period can be difficult and upsetting, and everyone experiences it at their own pace. Taking the time to welcome your emotions and recognize your needs can help you find a new balance, little by little.

Redefining daily life

After devoting time and energy to supporting a loved one, it may be necessary to find a personal balance and new lifestyle habits.

Every journey is unique, and it's normal to take the time needed to adapt to this new reality.

Taking care of yourself, one step at a time

- Feel what you feel:

There is no right or wrong way to grieve.

- Take your time:

Everyone moves at their own pace - take it easy.

- Don't be alone:

Talking to someone can really help.

- Listen to your body:

Eat, rest, move around - it helps more than you think.

Afterwards... I go on with my life

Thank you so much for your support throughout the months since my husband's death. Your gentle listening allowed me to move forward quietly and I am now doing very well. Thank you sincerely from the bottom of my heart.

________

I wanted to tell you that I was a little uncomfortable and very anxious at the beginning of the first meeting of the bereavement support group, and also because I thought I was young compared to the other participants. As the meeting progressed, I felt included and my anxiety went away. Thank you for offering me this workshop. I'll gladly continue.
